Joe Beirne Scholarships: 

CWA members, their spouses, children and grandchildren (including dependents of laid-off, retired or deceased CWA members) may apply. Applicants must be high school graduates or at least high school students who will graduate during the year in which they apply. Undergraduate and graduate students returning to schooling may also apply. Prior winners may not reapply.Final deadline for applications is 11:59 p.m., EDT, April 30, 2023. TO APPLY, go to https://cwa-union.org/beirneSixteen partial college scholarships of $4,000 each are being offered for the 2023-2024 school year. Winners, selected in a lottery drawing, also will receive second-year scholarships of the same amount contingent upon satisfactory academic accomplishment. Part-time students, less than 12 credits, will receive half of the scholarship monies. IUE-CWA Scholarships: 

For all of the IUE-CWA scholarships, the applicant must be accepted for admission or already enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited college or university, nursing or technical school offering college credit courses. All study must be completed at the undergraduate level. Checks will be sent directly to the accredited school.TO APPLY, go to https://iue-cwa.org/scholarships/iue-cwa-scholarship-application-form. Five $4,000 scholarships. Children and grandchildren of all IUE-CWA members and IUE-CWA employees (including retired or deceased IUE-CWA members or employees) may apply.Deadline to apply April 30th, 2023.

Union Plus Scholarship Program

The Union Plus Scholarship awards are presented annually to union members or members of their families who want to begin or continue their post-secondary education. In 2022, 189 union members and union family members were awarded $200,000 in Union Plus Scholarships, ranging from $500 to $4,000.2024 Applications will be available in mid-June. MASSACHUSETTS AFL-CIO ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP:

All high school seniors in Massachusetts are eligible to take the exam. Every year the Massachusetts AFL-CIO publishes a scholarship brochure describing the eligibility criteria for each award. Students with a union affiliation are eligible for both the Massachusetts AFL-CIO awards and those awards listed under their specific local union/central labor council. Individual awards range from $500 to $16,000.Registration for the 2022-2023 Program is closed. When 2023-2024 information is available, this section will be updated!
